XIC - 55th Annual Convocation

The XIC 55th Annual Convocation was held on 12th April, 2025 in the iconic St. Xavier’s College quadrangle, Mumbai. The event was attended in large numbers by parents, faculty members esteemed guests and students.
Dr. Fr. Keith D’Souza, SJ, Rector of St. Xavier’s College addressed the gathering. Sandra D'Souza Rana, Dean, Finance & Administration gave the review of the year that was, which followed by screening of the Academic year 2024 – 2025 that was.
The Chief Guest for this occasion was Mr. Khiran Keerodhur, Chief Operations Officer at Thomson Broadcast, he shared his experience and insights.The Guest of Honour for the occasion was Fr. John Paul Swaminathan, CEO of Don Bosco International Media Academy, film school in Paris.
Suramyaa Tewari was awarded the Ignatian award, and Yashraj Manish Purswani was awarded The Best All-Round Student.
The following awards were given during the event
Trilight Creations Award for ‘The Best Student in Film, Television & Digital Video Production Course’ was awarded Anil Kumar Kommathoti, and Runner-up to Saaniya Sanjay Pethe.
Ouseph Anthony Memorial Award for the Best Social Documentary, was awarded to "Sapne Dekhna Achi Baat Hai" to team members - Arnav Dutta, Jasmin Mullick, Mathew Prasad, Priyanshu Nagar, Rohit Gulavni, Sumantra Ghosh, Tanushree Rathaur & Umang Holani.
Burson India Vivek Samta Award for the Best Student in Public Relations & Corporate Communication to Poorti Buttan, and Runner-up to Urvashi Sharma.
Mr. Kashiram Kadam, Creative Head, Iyengar’s Filter Kaapi presented the Iyengar’s Kaapi Award for the Best student in Advertising, Marketing Communications & Customer Analytics to Advertising & Marketing (A) to Aarya Pradhan, and Advertising & Marketing (B) to Suramyaa Tewari.
Best Student Runner-up in Advertising & Marketing (A) to Aditya Ashwin Bhosale, and Best Student Runner-up in Advertising & Marketing (B) to Priyanshi Sewani.
Event Planning & Experiential Marketing best student to Soumya Swarupa, and Runner-up to Shreeya Chhajed.
The Venkat Vemulapalli Memorial Awards, has been instituted in memory of Venkat Vemulapalli, ex-AM student of XIC by his parents Mr. Srinivas & Mrs. Ratna Vemulapalli, for Best AD Films and Best Live Client Projects.
The Best Ad Film was “Odomos”, Team members: Saurav Kangane, Shaambhavee Joshi, Nora Saji, Suramyaa Tewari, Tasneem Rampurawala, Annesha Chatterjee, Puja Vasant, Ria Alfina Luther, Ann Mary Mathew, Isha Manoj Solani, Khushi Maru, Laxmi Kapse, Lohitaksh M. K., Mayurika Bhattacharyya & Seher Thapar.
Ad Film Runners' Up was “Tata Tea”, Team members: Priyanshi Sewani, Hidayat Fatima, Shamin Pereira, Navyanshi Agarwal, Dia Mehta, Mrunmayi Pande, Shashank Pardeshi, Komal Shetty, Sarthak Burman, Rianna Tarapore, Shirley Khurana, Sanya Joshi, Tanya Jain, Vaibhav Ranka, Vaishnavi Khairnar & Avtansh Dubey.
Best Live Client Project, In ADMA A - The Winning team for The Best Live Client Project is, “The Fate Club” to team Members: Aditi Kumbhar, Ishita Lohiya, Ria Hardikar, Sanjana Meshram, Ria Itagi, Aarya Pradhan, Kaustubh Patil, Prachi Pahwa, Palash Shah.
In ADMA B - The Winning team for The Best Live Client Project is, “Novana”, Team Members: Ridhi Ramawat, Preksha Jain, Mrunalini Pai, Annesha Chatterjee, Annushka Sharma, Jayanti Gautam, Ditilaxmi Sahu, Priyanshi Sewani & Chithresh K.
In ADMA A - The Runner up team, for Best Live Client Project to “The Fate Club”, to Team Members: Tasneem Rampurawala, Yukta Parekh, Salome Noronha, Fiza Rizvi, Shashank Pardeshi, Lavanya S., Hidayat Fatima, Devarshi Panchal, Lohitaksh M. K. & Navyanshi Agarwal.
In ADMA B - The Runner up team, for Best Live Client Project, to “Novana” to Team Members: Sneha Tiwari, Tristan Talwar, Hetashree Padia, Mehar Singh, Mrunmayi Pande, Atoshi Sikdar, Suramyaa Tewari, Goutami Ganachari, Juili Sawant
The Underdog Certificate of Commendation for the Best Copywriter in Advertising, Marketing Communications & Customer Analytics to Aarya Pradhan.
The Ranjana Kacker Memorial Award for Outstanding Research Paper in Journalism 2023-24, was awarded to Akanksha Biradar, Palak Sharma & Shreya Shetty.
The Ranjana Kacker Memorial Award for The Best News Capsule in Broadcast Journalism, to, "Mumbai City FC" to Team members: Sanchari Dasgupta, Shivani Maheshwari, Shorya Londhe, Ameena Parveen C. & Anisha Kakkar.
Journalism & Media Convergence Best Student to Tamanna Luna Mohanty, and the Runner-up to Adwitiya Deb.
Mario Fernandes, the Administrator gave the vote of thanks. He thanked every department responsible for the success of the Convocation Ceremony.
