01-August-2024

The Xaviers Institute of Communications (XIC) hosted a captivating photography exhibition on the 1st August 2024 titled "Postcards from Mumbai." The students of the Film and Television program, under the guidance of Mr. Rajesh Joshi, the Still Photography mentor, were tasked with capturing the essence of Mumbai through their lenses.

The exhibition featured an array of A3-sized postcard prints, each offering a unique perspective on the city's vibrant culture, bustling streets, and architectural marvels. The students creatively interpreted the theme, showcasing their ability to transform ordinary scenes into extraordinary compositions.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Mr. Shaison P Ouseph, the Course Head and Associate Dean of XIC, who praised the students for their talent and dedication. Mr. Rajesh Joshi, the mentor, expressed his pride in the students' achievements and encouraged them to continue exploring the world through their cameras.

A distinguished panel of judges, including Mr. Shaison P Ouseph, Mr. Rajesh Joshi, Mr. Emmanuel, and Mr. Prakash (DBIMA, Paris) carefully evaluated the submitted photographs. After a rigorous selection process, three winners were announced: Sufiya Quadri, Nupoor Bangera, and Jasmine Mullick.

The winners were recognized for their exceptional ability to capture the spirit of Mumbai and their artistic vision. As a reward for their outstanding work, they were presented with gift vouchers. The exhibition served as a testament to the talent and creativity of XIC's students and provided a valuable learning experience for all involved.
