Express Interest
The course in PG Diploma in Mass Communication & Digital Media is a 11-month full-time, post graduate diploma program. It is an academic stream intended to provide undergraduates with a panoramic perspective of the various facets of news media, new age media and mass communication disciplines. The knowledge and skills that students will acquire will equip them for careers in Social Media, Content Writing, Public Relations, Advertising, Journalism, Corporate Communications and a wide range of media related professions. Further, the course will provide deep dives and learning platforms to have understanding of audience engagement, news creation, campaign development etc.
Similar to other XIC Courses, this Diploma course is also taught and facilitated by professionals drawn from the fields of Journalism, Advertising, Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Social Media, Film Making, Event Management and related areas. The course comprises of 52 modules, seminars, and workshops (the costs of which are included in the tuition fee). The total of 525 sessions (105 credits) makes the student eligible for the diploma. A substantial part of the education is conducted through ‘assisted learning,’ which involves students undertaking assignments, research and case studies, projects individually or in groups under the guidance of the faculty.

Anyone holding a graduate degree in Arts, Science, Mass Media, Commerce, or any professional course etc. (Students, awaiting their graduation results, should submit a photocopy of the final year mark sheet of Second Year to the Administration Office) failing which, they will not be eligible for the XIC Post-graduate Diploma). To add, another criterion for the course is that it is intended only for graduates with no prior work experience or prior education qualification in the same field. There is an online entrance test followed by a personal interview.
The course is conducted over week days - Monday to Saturday (9.00 am - 8.30 pm), with two to three sessions daily. Workshops and Seminars are usually scheduled for Saturdays. 75% attendance is compulsory in each module

XIC trains its students for various industry roles that include News Creation and Reporting, Content Creation, Client Servicing, Account Planning, New Business Development, Crisis Management, Copy Writing, Media Planning, Retail Merchandizing, Brand Management, Digital Marketing, Social Media Management etc.
All modules in this course are obligatory.
